    The UCLA Center for Prehospital Care at the David Geffen School of Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine seeks a Payroll and Personnel Assistant to join our team.

    This position provides administrative support under the Payroll and Personnel Director and collaborates closely with the Emergency Department and UCLA Center for Prehospital Care leadership and staff.

    As a critical member of our Administration, you will work as a part of a high-functioning team to support the nation's premier prehospital care education Center.

    The successful candidate will assist managing all payroll and personnel aspects of the Center.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment where three principles guide the culture:

    Hourly rate:
    $28.78-$59.34

    Required:

    • Working knowledge of procedures and practices that govern HR administration, preferably in a university environment.
    • Analytical skills to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and resolve organizational issues.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize work and manage divergent needs.
    • Working knowledge of human resources concepts, employment practices, employee/labor relations, salary administration, recruitment, training, and other areas of human resources.
    • Ability to work independently or with a team and complete projects within specified deadlines.
    • Skilled in handling sensitive information and / or situations and maintaining strict confidentiality.
    • Skilled in composing business, personnel and / or payroll correspondence.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively relay and obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, and students.
    • Knowledge of benefits and retirement programs, preferably in a university environment; ability to interpret and communicate complex benefits information to employees at all levels.
