    Description

    Service Center Mechanic

    The primary role of a Service Center Mechanic at McGough is to repair and maintain various construction equipment, including power tools, generators, trucks, forklifts, trailers, concrete equipment, etc. This involves working on diesel, gas, and electric engines, with an emphasis on diagnosing and repairing issues accurately.

    This position includes tooling and uniform onsite, as well as occasional travel to job sites. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of mechanical experience, with a strong background in working on diesel equipment, small engines, and miscellaneous construction equipment.

    The Service Center Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting and diagnosing engine, mechanical, and electrical issues, as well as repairing and maintaining various tools and equipment. Strong time management skills and a commitment to best-in-class safety practices are essential for success in this role.

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • 2-4 years of mechanical experience
    • 2-4 Previous work on diesel equipment, small engines, and miscellaneous construction equipment

    • Vocational Training and/or shop experience
    • Bilingual with the ability to communicate in both Spanish and English (if needed)
    • 4-7 years of work on diesel equipment, small engines and miscellaneous construction equipment
    • Background with Telehandlers / heavy equipment

    • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications to work through email, excel, and an online ordering system
    • Customer Service and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent Organizational skills and problem solving skills
