    Job #: 308141 Title: Bookkeeper Location: Lake Charles, LA Salary Range: $20.00+ Position: Accounting Clerk Description:
    A bookkeeper manages the financial transactions of the practice, including recording income and expenses, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate financial records. They also handle tasks like accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations, payroll and insurance billing.

    Core Financial Tasks:

    Recording Transactions:

    Accurately entering all financial transactions into the accounting system, including income from patient payments, insurance claims, and other sources, as well as expenses for supplies, equipment, and other costs.

    Maintaining Ledgers:

    Balancing and maintaining accurate ledgers for bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.

    Accounts Receivable:

    Managing the process of collecting payments from patients and insurance companies, including generating invoices and tracking outstanding balances.

    Accounts Payable:

    Ensuring timely payment of vendor invoices and other expenses.

    Bank Reconciliations:

    Regularly reconciling bank statements with the practice's financial records to ensure accuracy.

    Financial Reporting:

    Preparing monthly or other regular financial statements, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
