Data Engineer / AI & ML Engineer
Las Vegas, NV

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer / AI & ML Engineer to support the development and deployment of AI-driven systems across computer vision, LLM applications, and scalable data infrastructure.

This role will also contribute to lightweight frontend tools and internal productivity applications, including browser-based extensions and user-facing dashboards. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across backend AI systems and frontend interfaces when needed.

Key Responsibilities
AI & LLM Systems
Contribute to the development and maintenance of LLM-powered applications and RAG pipelines
Build backend services using Python and FastAPI
Integrate external APIs and data connectors into AI workflows
Support deployment and monitoring of LLM inference services

Computer Vision & ML
Develop and maintain object detection and computer vision pipelines
Assist with model training, evaluation, and performance optimization
Support production deployment of ML models

Data Engineering & Infrastructure
Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data
Work with tools such as Kafka and Airflow for orchestration and streaming
Automate retraining and inference workflows
Manage storage of inference outputs and metadata in cloud systems (e.g., AWS S3)
Containerize services using Docker and support scalable deployment

Frontend & Internal Tooling
Develop and maintain lightweight frontend tools and dashboards
Build and enhance Chrome extensions using JavaScript/TypeScript
Integrate frontend interfaces with backend AI services
Collaborate with stakeholders to improve usability of internal AI tools

Collaboration & Ownership
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI features
Participate in design discussions and code reviews
Support junior team members when needed

Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ML Engineering, or related field
Strong proficiency in Python
Experience building or supporting ML pipelines in production
Familiarity with backend API development (FastAPI/Flask preferred)
Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Understanding of scalable system design

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with LLMs, RAG pipelines, or agent-based frameworks
Experience with computer vision models (e.g., YOLO or similar)
Exposure to Kafka, Airflow, or streaming pipelines
Experience building Chrome extensions or lightweight web applications
Familiarity with React or similar frontend frameworks
