- Verifies Workers' Compensation coverage for patients and obtains authorization, demographics, billing and other information.
- Coordinates and reschedules new and existing WC patient appointments
- Obtains authorization for diagnostic tests and surgeries
- Acts as a liaison between the WC representatives and office staff involving authorizations and coordinating follow up care.
- Updates patients records
- Sends medical records, work status forms, and other information to the WC representatives as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and medical office procedures
- Strong computer and telephone skills
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation Insurance and/or prior authorizations in a medical office setting preferred
- Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with staff, co-workers, patients and WC representatives.
