- Deliver appropriate patient care from pre-procedure through post-procedure stages until discharged
- Document and maintain records pertaining to patients
- Assures the most effective delivery of are in general urology, while meeting and exceeding compliance standards
- Perform urological procedures, consultation, evaluation, and treatment to manage various conditions, illnesses, and injuries of the genitourinary system
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during treatment interventions
- Accountable to the Associate Chief of Staff Surgical Care for assuring the most effective delivery of care in general urology while meeting and exceeding compliance standards
- Manage patient workload within available staffing, which may include support of Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and LPNs
- Coordinate care with VA's tertiary care facilities and VA sharing partners
- Perform the usual administrative components of patient care management, such as : documentation of progress, notes and consultation findings, in an electronic medical record, dictation and electronic signature of OP reports, electronic entry, and signature of all doctor's orders for inpatient and outpatient, etc.
- Provide consultative services for genitourinary injuries and urological diseases for outpatients, inpatients and community living center patients
- Complete needed peer evaluations
- Supervise medical students or physician residents (including fellows)

Summary

Duties
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

The Physician (Urologist) is responsible for providing quality care, consultation, education, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Duties include but are not limited to:
