Checkr is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Verifications team. The team is responsible for the end-to-end implementation of screening products from candidate and customer experience to vendor integration. Our products include Employment, Education, and Professional License Verifications in addition to Drug and Occupational Health Screenings. These products constitute the core of Checkr's background check product and enable Checkr's mission aligned products.If you are looking for a team with a diverse makeup across level, regions, and backgrounds, then the Verifications team is the right place for you.
Checkr is a collection of small services built on Ruby, Golang, and Javascript, with SQL and NoSQL databases, asynchronous tasks using messaging queues and Kafka data streams.

What you bring:3+ years of software development experience and knowledge of back end best practices strongly preferred
Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as relational databases, data structure and algorithms, Object Relational Mapping, REST APIs, microservices, etc.
Strong written and verbal technical communication skillsAdvanced debugging and troubleshooting skills
Humility, ownership, openness to feedback, and eagerness to learn
Desire to be challenged, grow personally and professionally, and become autonomous

At Checkr, we believe a hybrid work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, and Santiago, Chile. Individuals are expected to work from the office 2 to 3 days a week.

The base salary range for this role is $119,259 to $161,351 in Denver, CO.
