    Position Title Coordinator/PA MEDI and RSVP Division Continuing Education(DIV) Department Continuing Education Job Description As Program Coordinator, this position is responsible for the administration and coordination of the various grant funded activities as related to the RSVP and PA MEDI programs.

    The mission of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is to provide opportunities for adults 55 and older to utilize their skills and talents in addressing the critical needs of the community through their volunteer stations.

    The mission of the PA Medicare (PA MEDI) Program is to provide free healthcare insurance counseling designed to help all Pennsylvanians who are Medicare eligible and have health insurance questions and concerns.

    PA MEDI counselors are specially trained volunteers who can answer Medicare questions and provide free objective easy-to understand information about health insurance.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    JOB-SPECIFIC Administer, coordinate, and supervise program activities, including day-to-day operation of the local RSVP and PA MEDI Projects in cooperation with the RSVP Advisor Council, and ensure that all grant program goals and objectives are met.

    Recruit program participants and provide them with orientation and appropriate placement, including the approval and monitoring of all assignments.

    Assess critical community needs of volunteer stations by implementing the plan for impact-based programming, including the development of MOUs with all volunteer programs in cooperation with their RSVP Sponsor.

    Develop and implement RSVP Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Community Center Schedule and associated training schedule.

    Develops and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the PA Medi program in cooperation with the College and the Area Agency on Aging in Westmoreland County Ensures grant compliance and other program, local, state, and federal regulations Cultivate and develop partnership opportunities that result in employment placement for participants.

    Plan and organize quarterly training, monthly luncheons, and other program-related activities. Work with Accounting & Grants on grant writing preparation and performance report submissions if applicable. Compile information on program services, activities, and participants. Complete required data entry and program-related documentation as mandated by grant requirements. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Travel to designated Education Centers as needed. Assist with RSVP and PA MEDI events. Participate in departmental meetings, various committees, and professional organizations as required. Advocate for the College and RSVP/PA MEDI at community events and in community organizations. Perform additional grade-level support duties as assigned. Required Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING Associate Degree in a related field required. One to three years of related experience required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. Prior supervisory and management experience preferred. Related grant work experience preferred. Related work experience in higher education preferred.
