Which Qualifications Do You Need?:
In order to set you up for success, you need the basics of...

• Requires a two year allied health degree.
• Must be licensed in the state of Florida.
• Successful completion of an approved one-year program in Ultrasound Technology.
• Must have registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• AHA/ARC Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Two years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist is also required.

What Does a Sonographer Do?:
As a Sonographer with Lower Keys Medical Center, you will be responsible for...

• Performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate, and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.
• Scheduling and coordinating tests, recording test results, and preparing and maintaining operational logs.
• Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed.
• Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field.
• You will rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, while performing a variety of tasks.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Typically this position reports to a chief technologist or Director.
• You will be working under general supervision.
