- Assess workplace for occupational health hazards by observing work conditions, records review, interaction with supervisors, operators and contractors, sampling of various media (air, water, soil, etc.), and monitoring chemical, physical, or radiological agents.
- Oversee or collect workplace air, water, vapors/gases and dust samples or other potentially toxic materials for analysis.
- Review comprehensive analytical information (ex. technical references) to draw conclusions and develop safe operating procedures and communications on safe handling and operating procedures.
- Conduct detailed exposure assessments, analyses of operational procedures, equipment, and materials.
- Develop and recommend appropriate controls, administrative and PPE, for occupational health hazards.
- Evaluate and interpret monitoring and sampling results, make determinations, and develop corrective actions based on data and workplace observations.
- Prepare accurate and complete technical reports of survey findings and provide recommendations of corrective measures.
- Serve as technical expert in chemical analysis, equipment, and processes.
- Maintain, operate, and calibrate a variety of industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring equipment.
- Maintain a current knowledge of EHS policies and procedures, MSHA, NRC, California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and Cal OSHA regulations and other pertinent regulations and standards.
- Support the facility's air compliance program Radiation Safety Program.
- Complete any other tasks as needed or directed by management.
- 3+ years of experience as an Industrial Hygienist required.
- 3+ years of experience as a Radiation Safety Officer or technician.
- Familiarity with mining, NORM, and chemical processes preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health field highly preferred, or 3+ years of related safety and health field experience required in lieu of degree.
- Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CMSP, RSO, ARSO) and/or memberships in Health and Safety Associations preferred.
- A Valid Driver's License and a good driving record are required to drive company vehicles on property.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of MSHA, CDPH, NRC and Cal OSHA health standards, codes, and regulations.
- Knowledge of methods, procedures, and techniques used in collecting and testing samples such as dust, mist, fumes, vapors, and noise.
- Knowledge of toxicological effects of occupational hazards.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical data and prepare reports and plans.

Under the supervision of the EHS Manager, the Industrial Hygienist/Radiation Safety Officer candidate is responsible for identifying workplace hazards and making recommendations for corrective action for a wide variety of workplace industrial hygiene and radiation safety factors that may adversely impact employee safety, health, and productivity.Salary: The expected pay rate is $90,000 per year.
