    Education
    High School Graduate or Equivalent
    CPCS preferred.

    Experience / Qualifications

    Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in the medical staff services field performing credentialing functions independently including quality assurance experience.

    This position requires knowledge of all aspects of the Medical Staff Services work.
    Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    High level knowledge of computer and office systems and information management including the ability to retrieve, display, and interpret large amounts of data.

    Ability to interact with physicians and hospital staff in an effective manner.

    This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgement, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships with team members.

    This position may require additional hours worked beyond the eight (8) hours as needed and requested by the Director.

    Position Summary
    Under the Direction of the Medical Staff Director, the Senior Medical Staff Coordinator assists and provides support to the Medical Staff credentialing process by performing the following functions:

    Process applications for new and existing providers, including mid-levels with all aspects of the credentialing process in a timely and accurate fashion.

    Oversees the performance of the credentialing process and operation of the credentialing software by performing monthly audits to ensure data is entered and maintained in a consistent manner by all users.

    Leads/Coach team members with techniques that improve individual performance and foster development within the credentialing software.
    Assist in the training/overview of new team members (credentialing software) and acts as a resource for team members.
    Maintain an electronic file with new updates/enhancements released by credentialing software. Communicate and train team members on new updates.
    Assist Director with reports, matrix, rosters as needed.
    Attends meetings and represents the department as assigned by the Director.
    Meet with Department Chiefs for file reviews.
    Training of chiefs -Electronic appoint process (credentialing hub)
    Accepts ownership of job roles and specific assignments/goals; works independently.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
