    Job Description

    The faculty member is responsible for instructing and assessing didactic and clinical courses in the Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) Program. The individual will instruct, evaluate, and observe students in the lab the individual will be responsible for the implementation and continued improvement of coordination of the didactic, campus laboratory and clinical experiences in the CVT program.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    Performs student instruction and clinical assessment to include:

    • Maintain the lab experience curricula to coincide with state and national guidelines.
    • Instruct in the Cardiovascular Technology didactic course work.
    • Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
    • Implements course policies to ensure students are learning in an academic environment
    • Participate in continued evaluation of the program to include scanning protocols for the lab.
    • Assist the program director in the operation of the program by participating in the formulation of program, lab and clinical policies and procedures.
    • Participate in programmatic and accreditation activities.
    • Deliver training of scanning protocols in the lab to correlate with didactic lectures.
    • Serves as resource and mentor for students and staff in clinical arena.
    • Ensures all the objectives are met during clinical rotation.
    • Maintains and document's clinical competencies.
    • Communicate effectively with program director, staff, and peers.
    • Assign grades for students.
    • Maintain lab equipment.
    • Stay informed and up to date with industry standards and incorporate into program offerings accordingly.
    • Participates in Advisory Committee meetings
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Understanding of educational environments, including the needs of adult learners.
    • Understanding of professional career paths for which the prospect is enrolled.
    • Ability to provide a positive and effective learning environment.
    • Dedication, motivation, and enthusiasm for teaching.
    Required Education & Experience:
    • Graduated from an accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent.
    • An academic degree is not lower than an associate degree and at least equal to that for which the students in the program are being prepared.
    • The equivalent of two years of full-time clinical experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist.
    • Registered Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS).
