- Provide clinical care for domestic animals and livestock.
- Educate the community on the importance of spaying and neutering.
- Organize spay/neuter clinics.
- Review animal care protocols.
- Assist in grant management and veterinary medicine practice.
- Offer guidance and training to staff and volunteers.
- Provide information on animal diseases and prevention.
- Train in artificial insemination practices.
- Offer emergency veterinary coverage.
- Supervise and coordinate Veterinarian Assistant's work, among other duties.
- Understanding of Tohono O'odham culture and laws.
- Knowledge of veterinary services, animal care, and surgery techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and veterinary software.
- Skills in research, animal restraint, and customer service.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and handle emergencies.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to travel.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
- Three years of relevant work experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Must pass a background check and have a valid driver's license.
- Fluency in Tohono O'odham Language and English may be required.
