    Description
    Occupational Therapist Position Summary:

    The OT provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.


    Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:
    • NBCOT certified upon hire, renewal optional
    • Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT)
    • Currently registered/licensed in State. Must maintain active license
    • One year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
    • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. Must remain current

    Specific Job Requirements:
    • Participates in community health projects as appropriate
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
    • Liaisons with patients, families, support departments
    • Must demonstrate good body mechanics
    • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
    • Knowledgeable of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines
    • Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures
    • Perform proficiently in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
    • Maintains professional working relationships
    • Maintains confidentiality
    • Follows company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
    • Displays integrity and professionalism

    Essential Functions:
    • Follow occupational treatment plans for patients
    • Establish, assess, and modify realistic goals
    • Oversee and evaluate care given by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and students
    • Chart appropriately and timely
    • Utilize therapy software accurately
    • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude
    • Assist in patient evacuation
    • Demonstrate dependable attendance
    • Concentrate, reason, and use good judgment
    • Communicate and function productively in interdisciplinary teams
    • Perform various physical tasks during working hours
    • Language: English
