    Assembly & Test Technician


    Overview of Position:


    An Assembly & Test Engineer assembles, programs, and tests Ku and C-Band VSAT equipment as a member of Speedcast's production process.

    Build & Test Engineers are responsible for performing technical functions for individual break fix jobs plus larger projects and fleet builds.


    What you will do:

    • Assemble, configure, integrate, test, and repair various VSAT/ LTE communications equipment for land based and offshore customers.
    • Perform upgrades and troubleshooting on equipment including Cisco, iDirect, Cobham/SeaTel, Sailor, Iridium, Winegard, Hyperlink, Ccom and others.
    • Perform various Ku and C-Band equipment tests.
    • Work with Global Supply Chain department on the receipt and delivery of equipment.
    • Complete all Build & Test documentation accurately and update online records.
    • Update and communicate job progress with supervisors and other interested parties.
    • Attend kickoff meetings projects as needed.

    What we need from you:

    • Associate's Degree in Electronics, related Telecom/Satellite/Commercial field or military experience in RF, comms, radar and/ or microwave technologies.
    • 2+ years' experience within a technical production/ manufacturing/ Build & Test team.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to work outside when required.
    • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
    • Must be able to work overtime when required.
    • Must be a team player.

    Even better if you are/have:

    • A self-starter, highly organized, and be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to prioritize, manage time, meet deadlines, and function with minimal supervision.
    • Good written and verbal communications skills.
    • Good computer skills are required, including a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
    • Good working knowledge of hand tools.
    • Reliable and proven troubleshooting ability.
