- Support and promote Toyo's strong safety culture aiming for zero accidents and injuries.
- Serve as a key member of the Company's Safety Committee.
- Regularly inspect facilities to identify safety risks.
- Conduct safety meetings and training sessions.
- Investigate incidents and report findings to the Director of Human Resources.
- Develop action plans to correct hazards and deficiencies.
- Stay current on safety regulations and implement safety policies.
- Manage regulatory agency site visits and inspections.
- Oversee emergency response and crisis management plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs and regulations.
- Provide guidance to managers and personnel on safety policies.
- Maintain safety-related documentation and reports.
- Recognize and celebrate safe behaviors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
- Prior experience in developing and implementing safety programs.
- Knowledge of COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
- Experience with workers' compensation processes.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

SUMMARY
As the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist reporting to the Director of Human Resources at Toyo, your main goal is to promote a strong safety culture and healthy work environment within our organization. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing safety programs, enforcing policies, conducting training, inspections, audits, and job safety analysis to ensure compliance with various regulations. Your focus will be on reducing injuries, improving processes, and driving safety initiatives to achieve zero accidents and injuries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering or Occupational Safety, with 5-7 years of safety-related experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment. Valid driver's license required.
Certifications such as First Aid/CPR/AED, OSHA 30-hour, or CSP are a plus.
