    Shift/Schedule – Full time Nights-3/12 hr. shift 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM with 3 On-call shift per 6 weeks

    Labor and Delivery Job Description

    Provide care for patients utilizing fetal and maternal monitoring equipment. Manage the patient's pain including epidural and patient controlled analgesia administration. Assist physician during delivery, treatment, examination and surgical procedures. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Provide patient and family education on labor, pain and newborn care.

    Patient Population:Level III Maternal and Neonatal Designation

    Number of Beds: 10 Labor and Delivery Suites, 2 OR Suites, 2 PACU beds, 4 OB ED beds

    Department Specifics: Strong team atmosphere and culture of unity, over 2300 deliveries annually, Board-Certified OB Physician on-site 24/7, numerous labor support tools, strong focus on quality and process improvement, including active participation in the Texas AIM Plus initiative, focus on individual's career and future goals, and strong unit nursing certification rate.

    A Magnet Recognized Facility, in a 191 bed, fully accredited not for profit hospital providing a broad spectrum of healthcare services to families in McKinney and the surrounding communities. The hospital offers personalized care and advanced technology on a beautiful with hotel-like amenities and all private rooms. Services include emergency care, heart and vascular services, orthopedics, oncology, primary care, women's services, and a Level III Neonatal IC with private suites.

    As part of the medical center's long-term plans, the hospital structure can add additional floors, increasing the number of beds to 400 as community growth warrants.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program

    MAJOR - Nursing

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse (RN)

    Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
