    HDR is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in multiple locations including, but not limited to Columbus OH Omaha NE, Des Moines IA, Kansas City MO, Chicago IL, Saint Louis MO, Dallas TX, San Antonio TX, Houston TX, Austin TX, , Denver CO, Indianapolis, IN, Minneapolis, MN.

    This individual will be responsible for the electrical design of facilities in support of a variety of markets including: Data Center/mission critical, Technology, Corporate/Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Power, and/or Federal.

    They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. They will be responsible for the development of construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound electrical engineering designs.

    In the role of Electrical Engineer we'll count on you to:

    • Perform, plan, direct, and monitor work of the electrical design on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project
    • Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
    • Coordinate electrical team staffing and workload to complete the Project on schedule
    • Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines
    • Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
    • Write/edit electrical specifications and select equipment, electrical systems and devices
    • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents
    • Provide construction contract administration as needed
    • Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians
    • Perform other duties as needed

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
    • 5 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
    • PE (Professional Engineer license)
    • Strong computer skills, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and electrical design software
    • Revit experience required
    • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired
    • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
