    Commodity Specialist - Procurement

    About the Position
    First Student is renowned as the largest school transportation provider in North America, with a wealth of experience providing secure and dependable transportation services. Collaborating with over 1,250 school districts across 39 states and 8 Canadian provinces, we transport roughly five million students to 21,000 schools daily.

    Job Title: Commodity Specialist - Procurement
    Company: First Student

    This is a hybrid role in the Cincinnati Metro Area

    $75,000 to $80,000 yearly salary

    Responsibilities:

    • Leadership of the commodity - Develop expertise in the target commodity and a thorough understanding of demand/supply market dynamics
    • Monitor business transactions for commodity including: Monitor purchase-order life cycle, ensuring order and audit receipts
    • Customer Support - Respond and resolve order, delivery, and service-related inquiries from internal and external customers
    • Business Analysis - Coordinate actions to ensure conformance to CPA supplier contract and practices
    • Transition and Project Support - Assist with program development, special projects, and changes to existing commodity suppliers

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 3 years experience in purchasing or equivalent
    • Strong computer skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment
    • Quick thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
    • Able to work both independently and in a group setting
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
