Import Transportation Coordinator - St. Louis, Missouri, , United States

Job description
The Import Transportation Coordinator will assist in carrier selection while focused on cost control and continuous improvement within the department. This person will also participate in a cross-functional team consisting of, but not limited to, purchasing, customer service, finance, and trade compliance.
This position is a full-time onsite position Monday - Friday. This is not a remote role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily communication with carriers including articulating booking instructions as required
- Maintain updated transportation costs in the AS400 and Routing Guide
- Assist in investigating, negotiating, and processing claims related to transportation
- Assist in day-to-day transportation issues that arise and work with the customer to resolve issues
- Assist in working with the drayage companies and branches to help drive down transportation costs
- Collaboratively work with accounts payable to audit freight payments and carrier billing accuracy
- Maintain AS400 distribution and logistics modules including but not limited to, daily shipment processing
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Import and/or International Business experience or education highly preferred
- Minimum 2 years Customer Service experience in a call center environment and/or Logistics/Supply Chain Management
- Must possess excellent communication skills with proficient PC skills to include Microsoft Office.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Diplomatic problem solver with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- AS400 experience is highly preferred
