    Job Title: Material Handler

    Department: Not specified

    Reports To: Supervisor

    FLSA Status: Non-exempt

    ROLE OVERVIEW

    As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of inbound materials, ensuring their safe delivery and proper storage. You will also be involved in the movement of materials for operational purposes and documentation of relevant information. Operating forklifts will be a key part of your responsibilities.

    MAIN TASKS

    • Plan and coordinate daily tasks with your supervisor, addressing any concerns promptly.
    • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment by following all procedures and regulations.
    • Follow instructions from your supervisor accurately and efficiently.
    • Identify materials to be moved based on work orders or verbal instructions.
    • Handle containers using appropriate tools and equipment.
    • Load and unload materials onto various storage systems.
    • Transport materials within the facility using suitable devices.
    • Safely operate equipment like hand trucks, cranes, and hoists as needed.
    • Utilize basic computer skills for documenting product-related information.
    • Label materials correctly for storage purposes.
    • Ensure materials are moved only after QA approval.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Basic literacy and numeracy skills, typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Manual dexterity for handling machinery, tools, and computers.
    • Strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
    • Capability to operate hand jacks and forklifts safely (certification required).
    • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and enhancing technical knowledge.
    • Effective communication with colleagues and supervisors to meet production goals.
    • Strong teamwork mentality, assisting less experienced team members when necessary.
    • Punctuality and reliability, with a focus on meeting production targets and maintaining excellent attendance.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • This role involves various physical demands that are essential for job performance. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
    • Regularly standing, using hands, and communicating effectively.
    • Lifting and moving objects within specified weight limits.
    • Specific vision capabilities are necessary for this role.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Standard manufacturing conditions with regular lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
    • Use of safety gear like glasses, hearing protectors, and appropriate footwear.
    • Demonstrated physical capability for standing throughout extended shifts.

    1st Shift
    Monday to Thursday, 6am-4pm, potential Friday overtime.
