    Laboratory Assistant
    • Assist with Biohazardous waste disposal
    • Wash glassware
    • Unpack supply shipments
    • Prepare PCR reagents following strict guidelines
    • Instrument maintenance
    • Inspect eyewashes weekly
    • Other duties as assigned

    Administrative
    • Rotate filed paperwork and package for shredding
    • Photocopying, Scanning documents for electronic archiving, and shredding expired records

    Minimum Qualifications

    Position Summary

    This is a laboratory assistant position in the Molecular section of a busy Veterinary Diagnostic Lab. The position will be responsible for duties associated primarily with laboratory maintenance. Additional work may include some administrative duties.

    Work with secure data and maintain confidentiality

    Computer skills are essential to complete the duties of the job

    Quickly learn and follow standard operating procedures in job duties

    Excellent organization skills with great attention to detail

    Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

    Attendance and punctuality are critical components to be successful in this position. Availability to work 4-hour continuous blocks of time.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

    Ability to work with secure data and maintain confidentiality. Computer skills will be necessary to complete the duties of the job. Ability to quickly learn and follow standard operating procedures in job duties. Possess excellent organization skills with great attention to detail.

    Physical Demands

    Lift up to 40 pounds unassisted. Candidate should be available Monday - Friday with variable hours between 8am and 5pm, and available to work during the summer.
