    About the Job



    Responsibilities

    Research Evaluations/Data Management (80%)
    *Assist with or conduct participant study visits independently, depending on the complexity of the visit. This may include leading study visits independently, or assisting a RN with a more complex research visit.
    *Perform simple processing of research specimens (training provided). Optional role of assisting with simple venipuncture for lab specimen collection if appropriate (additional training provided).
    *Enter research data into study databases
    *Organize and file research source documents from clinical research studies.
    *Answer phone calls from research volunteers or participants.
    *Assist with distribution (printing, hanging) of research advertisements
    *Prepare various research mailings, including study questionnaires for research studies.
    *Act in an essential support capacity for Clinical Research Coordinators.
    *Approach potential participants for study recruitment.
    *Utilize the nursing process and standards to perform protocol-specific research activities, including obtaining informed consent, conducting medical procedures, monitoring adverse events, etc

    Administration (10%)
    *Facilitate study start-up activities. This may include duties such as ordering study supplies or communicating with various research entities (for example, the Clinical Research Unit)
    *Scheduling study subjects
    *Arranging for travel reimbursements and stipends for study participants.
    *Assisting with faxing documents.

    Regulatory (10%)
    *Assist with regulatory processes as needed. This may include: obtaining CVs, training records, or delegation log signatures from various staff and Co-Investigators.


    Qualifications



    All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

    Required Qualifications
    BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Computer proficiency and ability to learn multiple software applications
    Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
    Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team and with changing priorities
    Demonstrated ability to maintain deadlines and prioritize assignments
    Flexibility-willingness to engage in new studies and new research responsibilities as studies evolve
    During a typical 8 hour shift, a person in this position may be required to stand up to 2.5 hours, walk up to 2.5 hours (including stairs), reach above shoulders, lift up to 10 pounds above the shoulder, and carry packages across campus at waist level.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Prior experience or familiarity with clinical research and/or research methodology and regulations
    Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
    Ability to perform venipuncture
