Job Summary

The Paraprofessional (Physics) provides a variety of instructional and logistical support to department faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

Set up classrooms and laboratories.
Assist with introductory lab instruction.
Assist the Technical Director in maintaining and running introductory lab and audio-visual equipment.
Supervise student graders.
Assist with set up, tear down, and management of department events.
Assist the officers of the Society for Physics Students group as needed.
Assist the department's administrative assistant, chair, and faculty as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Physics or a closely related field; good communication skills, experience preparing and completing instructed labs, a sense of responsibility, and a commitment to excellence; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds; ability to manage time and work priorities; word processing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the Colorado College Physics program and the block plan. Tutoring experience (e.g., tutor with the Quantitative Reasoning Center). Teaching experience (e.g., Learning Assistant).

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$20.03 per hour
