- Lead the development and management of the E&S claims unit
- Serve as a leader and mentor to the claims team offering technical guidance regarding adjustment of claims while providing superior customer service to our policyholders and external partners
- Coach and mentor direct reports, providing regular feedback, and developing employees for professional growth and development
- Identify and assess coverage issues including issuing disclaimers, RORs, and position letters
- Investigates potentially fraudulent claims and take appropriate action in conjunction with the SIU Department
- Develop and maintain relationships with company internal and external parties and track and manage servicing metrics
- Engage with and travel to key external partners as needed
- Prepare and present written and oral reports to Management setting forth all issues influencing claim evaluations and impact on reserves
- Work with internal partners such as distribution, underwriting and actuaries regarding claim trends
- 7-10 years of E&S Property claims experience
- Thorough understanding of the E&S property insurance claims landscape including relationships with external partners
- Understanding of and ability to balance both the immediate claim issues as well as the broader portfolio impact and customer service impact of coverage disputes and issues
- Thorough knowledge of claims, litigation, appraisals and trial processes as well as excellent analytical, investigative, and negotiating skills
- Demonstrated ability to take part in strategic discussions and collaborate at all organizational levels, both internally and externally
- Experience with Xactimate and Xactanalysis
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as superior customer service skills
- Proper adjuster licensing
- Management experience preferred
