Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and reliable Class A Tow Truck Driver to join our team and ensure the safe, efficient, and professional transportation of vehicles. In this role, you will operate tow trucks to assist with vehicle recoveries, roadside assistance, and vehicle relocations. Your expertise in automotive systems and mechanical knowledge will be essential in providing exceptional customer service while maintaining safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills make a real difference every day.
In addition to the benefits included, you can even benefit from our Tool Buying Program. Uniforms will also be provided. There will be a 60 day probationary period. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience operating a commercial vehicle, but we will train the right person. Must speak, write, and read English.
Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring proper securing techniques to prevent damage during transit
- Conduct basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to identify vehicle issues before towing
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns professionally
- Maintain accurate documentation of all towing activities, including logs, incident reports, and vehicle condition reports
- Assist with automotive repair tasks when necessary, leveraging mechanic experience to support maintenance operations
- Manage conflict situations calmly and effectively, ensuring positive resolutions for customers and team members
Requirements
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed or tow truck models
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic automotive diagnostics and repairs
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and commercial driving regulations
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Experience with automotive repair tools such as forklifts or other lifting equipment is a plus
- Excellent driving record with valid commercial driver's license (CDL; minimum 2 years) or equivalent certification
- Good conflict management skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and safety compliance
- Prior experience working with automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, or as a mechanic is highly desirable
