The Department of Surgery at the MetroHealth System, a major teaching affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, is seeking a full time academic Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeon at the Assistant Professor Level to join our Bariatric Surgery Program.
Candidates should be a Board eligible or a Board-certified General Surgeon with fellowship training in Bariatric Surgery, a strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality care.
New grads are encouraged to apply and will work under the direction and mentorship of the Program Director, Sergio Bardaro, MD, FACS, FASMBS, DABS-FPMBS.
The MetroHealth System is a county-owned, nationally recognized academic medical center and tertiary referral center with 731 licensed beds.
MetroHealth is one of the largest, most comprehensive health care providers in Ohio with more than 700 primary care and specialty care physicians.
All active staff physicians in the Department of Surgery and our Weight Loss Surgery and Weight Management Program, hold faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine as well as leadership positions in major academic associations.
The MetroHealth system has its own General Surgery residency training program with 3 categorical residents per year.Our Weight Loss Surgery and Weight Management Program is a fully Certified MBSAQIP Comprehensive Center with Obesity Medicine Qualifications, and it was the first program to obtain such distinction in the State of Ohio.

Board eligible or Board-certified General Surgeon with fellowship training in Bariatric Surgery and laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic experience.
