    Details:

    Established leader in the production of miniature parts is looking for an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join their team.

    Responsibilities
    • Fabricate dies using complex machinery such as drill presses, manual lathes and grinders
    • Use sketches, blueprints, specifications, and models to plan operations for the fabrication of dies, tools and assemblies, ensuring safety and maximum efficiency
    • Verify dimensions of finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers, comparators, and micrometers
    • Utilize hand and machine tools to assemble parts of tools and dies and to repair and modify gauges, jigs and dies
    • Design templates and jigs to be used as work aids for convenient fabrication of products and parts
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and perform necessary repairs to tooling and dies
    • Set up and operate all department machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, rotary tables; monitors and adjusts mechanical processes as required.
    • Set pyrometer controls of heat treating furnaces, and place parts, tools, or assemblies into furnaces to harden.
    - Interface with external and internal customers, handle supplier and customer concerns, and work with team members to solve problems during the production process- File and finish workpieces using the appropriate hand tools to ensure products are smooth and that they fit together properly- Select the appropriate metals and materials to be used based on properties, ensuring they meet project specifications- Study specification plans and blueprints to determine the proper assembly, alignment and calibration of machines- Inspect finish dies to ensure proper smoothness, finish and contour free of all defects- Adhere stringently to all safety guidelines by keeping work area clean and wearing protective clothing- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbolsJob RequirementsDetails:
    Qualifications- 2+ years experience in tool and die making.
    • Experience working with close tolerances .
    0005" or less.
    • Excellent technical skills, with the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
    • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of gages, precision measuring instruments, and all necessary inspection equipment.
    • Has working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
    • Experience working with a wide range tool steels.
    • Must be able to stand for shift durations.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
    • Excellent visual accuracy.
