    We are looking for a mid-level SQL Database Administrator, that has experience with Azure SQL Database, for our valued North Austin client.

    In this role, you will be responsible for database administration, database design, troubleshooting, and replication tasks.

    Additionally, you will maintain and optimize our client's databases, resolving data-related issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of database systems.

    Assist with troubleshooting application issues (production support) on behalf of the users. The work breakdown will be 80-85% database administration and 15-20% production support.

    This full-time position with our client will work onsite 3 days a week in their north Austin office.


    What you will do:
    Perform Microsoft SQL database administration including software installations & configurations for SQL Server.
    Develop and enforce database standards and best practices including performance, security, monitoring policies and procedures.
    Research improvements to enhance overall system performance.
    Configure and maintain database servers and processes. Monitor system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
    Ensure all database data is protected by backups.
    Ensure databases can be restored in disaster recovery situations.
    Maintain automated SQL Server installations that have been built in PowerShell.
    Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity and performance issues.
    Ensure database integrity and security by communicating regularly with infrastructure, applications, security, and operational teams.
    Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication.
    Set up, test, and manage BC/DR capabilities.
    Create and maintain documentation of SQL systems and environments.

    Qualifications you must have:

    3 to 4 years of SQL Server database administration and troubleshooting skills.
    Experience in MS SQL Server (up to 2016), Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Azure SQL Database.
    Hands on experience installing, configuration and troubleshooting SQL Servers.
    Experience monitoring and troubleshooting SQL database performance issues.
    Database Design and Replication knowledge.
    Experience in managing and maintaining databases.
    Experience installing, configuring SSRS) and SSIS.Experience with SQL Native Backups as well as non-native tools such as Veeam or Rubrik.
    Experience with SQL Central Management utilizing Master/Target servers.
    Experience with SQL DTS Packages.
    Monitoring Tools like SQL Sentry and SolarWinds.
    PowerShell or other scripting experience.
    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    Knowledge of database systems and technologies.
    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
    Relevant certifications or degrees in Computer Science or related field.

    Pay:
    The Yearly Salary range for this role is

    $85,000 to $95,000

    per year plus a

    6% Bonus .

    The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
