    Job Overview


    As a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing advanced power supply products for high-end computing, data centers, telecommunications, and industrial applications.

    In this senior position, you will lead the product development process from concept to introduction into high-volume production, focusing on innovation and efficiency.

    You will also be responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI), addressing customer issues, and sustaining existing products. Additionally, you will actively participate in design reviews with global R&D teams for NPI projects and customer issue resolutions.


    Responsibilities:
    In your role as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the following key activities:


    Technical Leadership:
    Provide technical leadership in evaluating and defining product technical requirements.


    Advanced Design and Optimization:


    Design, build, and optimize power supply designs with a strong emphasis on efficiency, density, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining awareness of state-of-the-art technology.

    Broad experience with advanced electrical design simulation tools is a must.


    Schematic and PCB Design:
    Create detailed schematics, bills of material, and oversee PCB layouts for high-density applications and manufacturability.


    Prototype Development:
    Lead hands-on lab work, including building and debugging prototypes, ensuring designs meet performance requirements criteria.


    Electrical Characterization:
    Perform thorough electrical characterization following established checklists, conduct design validation, and qualification tests.


    Design Reviews:
    Lead concept and design reviews, taking schedule guidance from the Project Manager.

    Cross-functional Collaboration:


    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including firmware engineers, magnetics engineers, mechanical engineers for thermal performance, and Component Engineers in aiding module robustness and reliability.


    Product Lifecycle Management:
    Support and assist in sustaining the product's long lifecycle, identifying alternate component attributes critical to maintaining product performance.


    Manufacturability and Viability:
    Collaborate with component, safety, test, and manufacturing process engineers to ensure product viability.


    High-Volume Production:
    Lead the successful introduction of products into high-volume production.


    Technical Support:
    Provide technical support for production and field issues, ensuring product reliability and performance .


    Intellectual Property Protection:
    Prepare invention disclosures to protect intellectual property related to your work.


    Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelor of Science Degree:
    A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics from an accredited university or college.

    Have a minimum of 7 years of engineering design experience in power supplies.


    Desired Characteristics:
    In addition to the basic qualifications, the ideal candidate for this senior role should possess the following desired characteristics:


    Advanced Degree:
    Hold a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics preferred.


    Power Semiconductor Expertise:
    Understand power semiconductor parameters and limitations.
    Experience in GaN devices-based converter design.

    Magnetics Design :
    Proficiency in magnetics design for power conversion.


    Analytical Skills:
    Experience with advanced test and laboratory analysis tools for power electronics .


    Digital Control:
    Exposure to digital power supplies using digital control techniques, loop analysis, and compensation is welcomed.


    EMI/EMC Compliance:


    Awareness of design principles for EMI/EMC compliance is beneficial, and we will provide opportunities for further training in this area.


    Circuit Simulation:
    Experience with power supply circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE, SIMPLIS, or SIMetrix. Proficiency in ANSYS FEA tools like simplorer, SIwave, Maxwell and/or Q3D is a plus.


    Worst Case Analysis:


    A basic understanding of worst-case analysis, root sum squared "RSS" tolerance analysis is welcomed, and we are committed to helping you expand your expertise.


    Work experience:


    Designing PDNs "power delivery networks", POL "point of loads", BMP "board mounted power" and/or intermediate bus converters is a plus.


    Key Soft Skills:


    Possess key soft skills including self-motivation, attention to detail, strong teamwork, prioritization skills, effective communication (oral and written), and proven ability to drive projects to completion.


    Mentor:
    Guide and support less experienced colleagues by sharing your expertise in design, time management, and communication skills. Foster and promote a cohesive team culture. Actively participate in and provide valuable input during design reviews conducted by other teams.
