    Job purpose

    Arnold Magnetic Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Plastics Process Development Engineer to contribute to development and support of specialty composite plastics.

    The products are combinations of blended polymers, ceramics, metals, and other materials. They are formed by extrusion, calendering as well as other processes.

    The final products are used in a wide variety of industries including but not limited to medical, military, and consumer products.

    Essential Duties and responsibilities
    Conduct designed experiments to determine optimal processing conditions for products within the context of the operating plant. The goal is to move products from development into production.
    Research new materials and methods of development, analyze existing products for improvements and cost savings.
    Work in alignment of serving the needs of customers balanced with the goals of the organization.
    Identify critical process parameters and applying statistics to process measurement and control.

    Support continuous improvement projects and standardization to support best in class lean manufacturing systems to maximize yield, capacity, and capability.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Must have a degree in chemical engineering, polymer/plastics chemistry, ceramic engineering, or physical sciences (BS level or higher).
    5-years' experience in previous design engineering position.
    Design of Experiments experience for product and process development troubleshooting.
    Preferred experience as a process development engineer in polymer compounding and extrusion technologies.
    Capable of identifying critical process parameters and applying statistics to process measurement and control.
    Data collection and analysis experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment highly preferred.
    Strong Communication skills
    Ability to operate in a team-oriented environment.
    Ability to problem solve effectively.
