ContinuousPHLEBOTOMY LAB ASSISTANTFaculty Part-TimeThe position of Phlebotomy Lab Assistant is a Pooled Position and applications will be reviewed on an ongoing, as-needed basis.

If yes, then this is the position for youAs a Part-Time Phlebotomy Lab Assistant, you will be under the supervision of the Allied Health Coordinator and you will be tasked with assisting in lab and clinical instruction approximately 8-12 hours a week (subject to change).

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of current best practices in phlebotomy standards, care, and protocols. This position requires traveling to clinical sites with students.

Moreover, the lab assistant must maintain a high level of safety and exercise oversight to ensure the safety of students.

Under rare circumstances, the lab assistant must also be available to assist in didactic instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:
Education and experience (one of the following):Associate degree in a related health occupations area, plus a minimum four year's successful work experience as a phlebotomist, medical technician, RN, or related field

• OR
• A minimum of five years of experience in the occupational area.
• OR
• An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Be academically and experientially qualified for the level of appointment.
Successful completion of a criminal history clearance.
Successful completion of a healthcare drug screening.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS card by start date.
Immunizations as outlined by the Oregon Health Authority.
Proficiency with instructional and industry technology within 6 months (i.e. word processing, e-mail, learning management system, digital and social media).


Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching/training experience.
Nationally certified Phlebotomist (ASCP/NHA)
