    JOB PURPOSE

    To perform human resources functions assigned to include assisting with employee orientation, employee assistance with benefit programs, maintenance of personnel files and clerical support.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 20 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

    Equipment Operated: Telephone, personal computer, multiple printers, typewriter, copy machine, digital camera, and shredder.

    Work Location: Human Resources building primarily, travel to various locations on base is often required.

    Potential Hazards: Exposure to materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Essential Job Functions:
    • Creates all ID Badges employees and contractors.
    • Coordinates new hire orientation with Maintenance and Training.
    • Conducts new hire orientation for incoming direct personnel.
    • Verifies all new hire paperwork for accuracy and completion.
    • Sets up New Hires in all HRIS systems, maintains current records, and makes changes as required.
    • Creates and maintains personnel files on all current and former employees, both digital and hard copy.
    • Assists employees with benefits issues; including health insurance plans and the 401k plan.
    • Orders office supplies for the HR department. Coordinates service calls on all office equipment.
    • Creates posters, graphs and charts as required within the human resources and recruiting departments.
    • Processes checkout sheets for all terminated employees and closes out the files.
    Marginal Job Functions:
    • Assists Recruiting department as needed; job offer letters, new hire packets, and pre-employment drug screening.
    • Maintains Human Resources bulletin boards, posts policy changes.
    • Picks up, sorts and distributes incoming mail and inter-office correspondence.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; excellent knowledge of business English, proper grammar, spelling and punctuation; attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of information; excellent communication skills; ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; multi-tasking a necessity; thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; ability to operate office machines and equipment and to troubleshoot problems with equipment; ability to type with accuracy and speed; ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and to project a positive, concerned image to the public; ability to work without supervision; ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities, multi-tasking ability a must.

    Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education or training in Human Resources Administration preferred.

    Experience: Three to five years' experience in a Human Resources Generalist position preferred.

    Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver's license required.

    Other: May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate. This position requires some weekend and off hour coverage to proper evaluate all maintenance operations. This position may require some weekend and off hour duty coverage for the overall facility.
