- Within the scope of privileges granted, incumbent provides a full range of psychological services utilizing appropriate assessment instruments and structured interviews, generates psychological reports based on assessments, serves as an authoritative source of information in the use and interpretation of tests and provides expert consultation to other disciplines or units for patients including those with dementia, head injury, multiple sclerosis, and stroke.
- When required based on access demands and workload productivity, performs evaluations for obesity, transplants, and impotency, compensation and pension evaluations, and personality and emotional functioning evaluations using the most appropriate assessments.
- Within the scope of privileges granted, provides a full range of patient care interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy, as well as specialized interventions such as behavior management consultations and systems or environmental interventions. Uses evidence-based interventions. Presents informed reports or educates multi-disciplinary teams on the use of newly proven or evidence-based intervention techniques.
- Attempts to stay current with assessment and therapy techniques by reviewing and/or participating in research; and by promoting, initiating, assisting or engaging in program evaluation and/or other basic and applied research activities.
- May apply for a faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota.
- May provide clinical supervision to psychology practicum students, interns, and post-doctoral residents in assessments and clinical interventions.
- May be involved in Psychology Training Program and Training Committee.
- Provides leadership guidance and consultation to staffs of units to which assigned.
- Serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees and assists in their formulation of the psychological and neuropsychological characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations regarding their patients.
- Oversees the establishment of program monitors and outcome measurements within programs assigned using data-driven quality assurance processes.
- Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system, as appropriate.
- If applicable, plans and oversees the completion of personal research programs, designed to provide information regarding program planning and relevant treatment approaches.
- May present outcome data and research results at VA and regional or national scientific or professional meetings.

Summary
This Neuropsychologist is located in the Minneapolis VA Health Care System's (MVAHCS) Mental Health Service Line, Neuropsychological and Psychological Assessment Clinic (NPAC) The neuropsychologist will provide full battery and screening assessments for a variety of cognitive disorders, consult and provide clinical services including psychotherapy, and participate in the practicum, intern and postdoctoral resident training program (e.g., teaching seminars in the Neuropsychology Training Seminar)
Duties
This is an OPEN CONTINOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis; applicants will be reviewed on a weekly basis, as long as vacancies exist.
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
