    UM Campus Dining invites applications for a Operations Manager. You will provide administrative oversight, operational support, leadership, and management for the residential dining hall.

    We are excited to be opening the doors to a stunning new dining facility, Fall 2024 This state-of-the-art facility features seven unique micro-restaurants that celebrate an expansive array of food and cultures.

    Designed to comfortably accommodate over 900 students, faculty, staff and guests; the facility features roof decks with views of the Oval and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

    Responsibilities:

    • Hire, train, schedule, maintain student records, and directly supervise all staff.
    • Training will include, but is not limited to: service standards, cashiering, stocking, guest service, basic supervision, and service training (food preparation, beverage preparation, sanitation, accurately documenting records)
    • Maintain/implement a service staff schedule that meets established parameters
    • Occasionally work outside of normal working hours and be present at events in the evenings or on weekends
    • Follow established UMCD policies and procedures and ServSafe standards of health and safety
    • Be responsible for maintaining and organization of all service and storage areas
    • Contribute to the success of UMCD as an active member of the Leadership Team
    Minimum Required Experience


    • Professional management and supervisory experience
    • Experience with high volume food service operations
    • Provide outstanding guest service/ hospitality and train the staff to do the same
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in business English
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, and network filing systems
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Extensive experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities at this level are typically acquired with a four (4) year degree in hospitality or food service management or culinary or a related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience.
    • Two (2) of years in a high volume, progressive college or university operation.

    Shifts varies upon unit need, 12 months/year

    $26.25/hr
