    About Our Client

    This opportunity will join a Development firm who focus on utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects across MISO, ERCOT + PJM. This role will report to the Development lead and be the sole point of contact for all aspects of GIS. With a small team (10 people), joining the firm now will offer the successful candidate an opportunity for long term progression based on the company's overall headcount goals in the next 5 years.

    Job Description

    The GIS Specialist will be responsible for:

    Data Analysis and Mapping: Utilize GIS software to analyze spatial data and create maps that help in identifying suitable locations for solar and wind energy projects. This includes analyzing terrain, sunlight exposure, wind patterns, and proximity to existing power grid infrastructure.

    Site Assessment: Conduct detailed GIS analyses to support site selection processes for wind and solar projects. This involves evaluating land use, environmental constraints, access to transmission lines, and potential impacts on the surrounding area.

    Project Planning and Support: Assist in the planning and development stages of renewable energy projects by providing GIS data, maps, and analyses. This can include laying out project boundaries, turbine locations, access roads, and other infrastructure.

    Data Management: Maintain and update geographic data, ensuring high levels of accuracy and reliability. This includes managing databases of spatial information, aerial imagery, and other relevant data sets.

    Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with project managers, engineers, environmental scientists, and other stakeholders to integrate GIS data into the broader project development process. Provide reports, presentations, and recommendations based on GIS analyses.

    The Successful Applicant

    The GIS Specialist will have:

  • Relevant degree or certification in GIS or closely-related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 years experience in a GIS focused role at an IPP or Development firm.
  • Passionate about building professional maps through the use of sophisticated GIS software and techniques to support the development of renewable energy projects
  • Demonstrable competency in basic programming related to typical GIS functions
  • Certification or demonstrated ability to design and administer geo-databases and relational databases
  • Ability to work proactively and will full autonomy What's on Offer

  • $100,000 - $140,000 base salary based on experience
