This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration.
The Head of Data Visualization is responsible for designing and updating BI dashboards and reports to reflect current data insights.
They work closely with business users to understand their data visualization needs and test and refine visualizations for clarity, accuracy, and user experience.
They also lead discussions on visualization standards and practices to ensure consistency and provide support and troubleshooting for BI visualization tools.
As Data Visualization Product Owner, they will be responsible for overseeing and managing the suite of business intelligence tools including PowerBI, Tableau, and Qlik within the organization.
This role involves strategic product management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring that these tools are leveraged to their fullest potential to drive business insights and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Product Management:
Define and maintain the vision and roadmap for PowerBI, Tableau, and Qlik. Ensure that the tools align with the overall business strategy and meet the evolving needs of the organization.
Cross-Tool Integration:
Develop strategies for integrating these tools, capitalizing on their unique strengths to create a cohesive BI environment.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT, and data teams. Gather and prioritize requirements, ensuring that the BI solutions deliver maximum value.
Best Practices and Standards:
Establish and promote best practices and standards for the use of PowerBI, Tableau, and Qlik. Ensure consistency and quality in data visualization and reporting across the organization.
Training and Support:
Lead training initiatives to enhance user competency in these tools. Provide ongoing support and guidance to users at all levels within the organization.
Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with software vendors, staying updated on the latest features and negotiating contracts and licensing agreements.
Data Governance and Compliance:
Ensure that the use of BI tools adheres to data governance policies and complies with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
Performance Monitoring:
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the BI tools, gather user feedback, and make adjustments to the strategy as necessary.
Direct the development and implementation of best practices for data visualizations, consolidated dashboards/reports and presentations.Identify and implement best practices to navigate and publish Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards/reports; monitor usage by assigned team.
Manage and participate in the creation of access to ad-hoc analysis and self-service BI tools; train organization on tool usage and maintain tool access.
Use knowledge of program languages to manage assigned team as they query, structure and model data, as needed, for use in dashboards/reports.
Use expert knowledge of business and technical metadata, data management concepts, terminology, roles, and responsibilities to oversee the team's creation of accurate data models within BI tool(s).
Manage and drive business insights through the development of descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive reporting through the selection of appropriate advanced visuals to identify trends and outliers.
Use expert knowledge of the principles of visual perception to approve templates, standards and themes developed by assigned team and based on the needs of the targeted audience.
Lead enterprise culture of continuous improvement for visualization through the review and modification of dashboards/reports to ensure dynamic data and actionable items are presented in an understandable manner that meet the business needs.
Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years related experience.
Minimum of 1 year managerial, supervisory and/or work leadership experience.Tactical experience with a minimum of one data visualization tool.
Experience designing and developing advanced dashboards/reports and data visualizations.
Expert knowledge of data visualization approaches.
Experience incorporating data storytelling into visualizations.
Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) to analyze, extract, and transform data
Ideal Qualifications:
15+ years in data analytics and visualization.
Extensive experience with PowerBI, Tableau, and Qlik, including implementation, administration, and user training.
Strong understanding of BI principles, data analytics, and data visualization.
Proven ability to manage BI tools within a large organization.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements.
Bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in PowerBI, Tableau, and Qlik are desirable.
Tactical experience with multiple data visualization tools.
Experience driving business value through data visualizations.
Knowledge of data management concepts and terminology.
Certification in data storytelling and/or data visualization tools.
