- Own North America revenue accounting operations. Support month-end and quarter-end revenue close operational process including preparation or approval of journal entries, margin analysis, Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations, flux analysis and corporate reporting schedules.
- The role is a subject matter expert in GAAP revenue standards (ASC606 and ASC842), as well as Danaher and Molecular Devices revenue policies. Provide guidance to Regional Controllers and Finance team for complex, non-routine revenue transactions. Monitor global policy compliance.
- Be a valuable business partner to the sales team. Understand their needs, provide options and recommendations for deal structure and contract language to enable revenue growth while ensuring accounting compliance. Educate sales and other non-finance functions on system, policy and accounting requirements required for revenue compliance (e.g. ASC606, ASC842 etc.).
- ASC842: oversee and ensure the regional accounting teams implement ASC842 in accordance with corporate policies. Monitor and ensure timely and accurate update of lease agreements/modification/cancellation in system. Monitor the accuracy of leasing accounting transactions and own ASC842 (lessor accounting) reporting to Corporate.
- Research technical and complex accounting topics and provide recommendations. Author technical accounting memos for complex revenue transactions or non-routine transactions. Lead M&A finance due diligence efforts, including planning, due diligence review, reporting and integration.
- > 10 years of experience in revenue accounting operation. Preferably with > 4 years at a Big 4 Firm.
- BA or BS degree in finance/economics/accounting. CPA preferred
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP standards and updated guidance (e.g. ASC606, ASC842). Knowledge in IFRS is a plus.
- Operational experience with revenue recognition in manufacturing organization, preferably extensive experience with operating type and sales type lease accounting.
- Ability to communicate highly technical perspectives to individuals with varying degrees of experience in the subject matter ranging from sales personnel and certain other customer-facing individuals, other finance personnel, and management-level individuals.
- Comfortable in reviewing contracts or other documents working with cross functional teams.

The Senior Manager of Revenue and Technical Accounting is the Subject Matter Expert leading research on technical and complex accounting topics. She or he supports the Corporate Controller to oversee global revenue policy compliance, own North America revenue accounting operation, and provide practical direction for the global Finance and Accounting organization in the areas of technical and complex accounting policies and guidelines. He/She will work on specific projects related to revenue recognition and compliance, large sales or corporate initiatives, new business models and specific recognition issues.
