- Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and "where applicable" ResponsibleSteel
- Advising on provisions to minimize safety risks
- Ensure the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans
- Organize and conduct safety training plans
- Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
- Intervene in unsafe activities or operations, coaching and mentoring those involved to eliminate unacceptable risks
- Procure first aid and medical treatment as needed for injured workers
- Investigate incidents collaborating with managers and supervisors determining root cause and improvements
- Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and practices
- Experience in reporting and developing policies
- Strong verbal, written and analytical skills
- Competent in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks as required
