- Supervise 10 R&D Lab Techs & other skilled labor in support of in-house research goals.
- Interface with researchers to define job scope from work orders.
- Assist with developing work breakdown structure for field tasks required for the installation of new or modification of existing research projects.
- Estimate field work required to build or modify R&D projects.
- Perform design reviews and provide feedback to engineering on constructability
- Schedule resources using Primavera P6 scheduling software and order necessary materials.
- Conduct Plan-of-the-Day meetings with technicians to provide daily work assignments and guidance
- Complete job hazard analysis and work plans necessary to communicate hazards and mitigations to employees.
- Conduct routine toolbox safety talks.
- Maintain site R&D Summary and Deliverables spreadsheet.
- Identify technician training and equipment needs.
- Identify and train back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent.
- High school diploma or GED/TASC/HiSET and at least five (5) years of direct job-related experience within the following trades: electrician, welder, pipefitter, plumber.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.
- Prior experience supporting R&D operations.
- Two years leading construction/maintenance crews.
- Experience with work breakdown structures and resource loaded schedules.
- Flexibility related to work hours as project demands arise.
- Occasionally required to move 5 – 25 pounds.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary computer position for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to type.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms for using a computer.

Position Summary:Under the direct supervision of the Site Operations Manager, the R&D Supervisor is responsible for the organization and direction of all R&D operations personnel and the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of laboratory infrastructure to include; daily supervision, monitoring and coaching of employees to ensure a productive workforce in compliance with applicable policies; work planning, corrective action program support, training, resource scheduling and planning, requisition of materials and equipment, evaluation and management of lab performance.
