    Description

    An industry leader in the marine sector, specializing in the manufacture, installation, and distribution of premium decking products worldwide, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager.     The successful candidate will oversee engineering activities, ensuring the efficient planning and managing of schedules and workloads to fulfill customer delivery expectations, optimizing production capacity. This role involves coordination across various internal teams including production, quality, research and development, sales, and installation to ensure timely readiness of jobs and materials. Additionally, the manager will liaise with inventory control to support build requirements, providing updates on work progress.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and monitor a professional team on daily tasks and engineering projects related to facility operations.
    • Supervise the integration of engineering roles with other departments for seamless project completions.
    • Formulate and implement engineering strategies and best practices, mentoring team members to encourage their professional growth.
    • Identify improvements in manufacturing processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams for project execution.
    • Address production process issues, managing engineering schedules (including travel and design phases) to enhance productivity.
    • Manage and execute capital budgets for projects under $25K and approve departmental expenditures.
    • Support the development of new tools, equipment, and operational procedures, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
    • Available for occasional travel and capable of working safely in shipyard environments.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership, fostering inter-departmental relationships.
    • Plan and prioritize workloads, ensuring team members are well-trained and meet job expectations.
    • Oversee employee performance reviews, discipline, and safety practices.
    • Innovate continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
    • At least 10 years of supervisory experience, with a solid track record of managing projects and teams.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD, other design software, and Microsoft Office suite.
    • Strong background in manufacturing principles and their practical application.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the availability for occasional travel.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, a passport, and be currently authorized to work in the United States.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment: This role demands the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks including standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs. The position is primarily office-based in a climate-controlled setting but requires time in manufacturing environments and on docked vessels, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions, moderate noise, and wood dust.
