Our mission is to create an environment of excellence in clinical care, research and education/training that fosters the development of the regions future surgical oncology specialists.

We are committed to enhancing diversity among our faculty, staff, and students.

As part of Massey, one of only two NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in Virginia, VCU Health Surgical Oncology team members treat complex benign and malignant diseases with a patient-centered, multidisciplinary approach.

Our comprehensive designation reflects our scientific leadership, depth and breadth of research, effective community outreach, and cancer research training and education.

Our board-certified surgeons have completed specialty training in cancer surgery and are sub-specialized in different cancer types to further their expertise and technical skills.

Special areas of expertise include gastrointestinal cancers, breast cancer, melanoma, endocrine surgery, and sarcoma.

In addition to our surgeons, the Surgical Oncology division has a dedicated team of nurse navigators, patient coordinators, clinical nurses, and nurse practitioners to help navigate patients treatment paths.

We have multiple clinic locations with teams of multidisciplinary providers and access to innovative research protocols to help improve patient outcomes and provide support to our patients from diagnosis to treatment to post-treatment.

Some of the colleagues we partner with are specialists in the fields of Radiation Oncology, Hematology/Oncology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Genetics, and many others.

Our team approach to care helps us guide patients through the surgical decision-making process more efficiently to provide innovative, collaborative, and advanced surgical care.

The Department of Surgery at VCU/VCU Health System is recruiting for an open rank, early- to mid-career, term faculty position in the Division of Surgical Oncology.
