Job summary
This position may be filled as a Clinical Support Assistant Level I, II, or III depending on individual qualifications experience and business need Under general supervision of a registered nurse performs routine tasks in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Under general supervision of the RN and in collaboration with the patient and family systematically continually monitors the patient's health status and implements the plan of care.
- Takes/records blood pressures temperatures pulse weigh patients Performs blood glucose monitoring Sets up discontinues telemetry monitor Collects specimens as directed Applies sterile dressings removal of sutures staples drains Performs stomal irrigation applies colostomy pouches Performs oral suctioning Takes emergency action as needed within scope Performed all treatments procedures defined on initial skills checklist Reports symptoms significant changes in patients condition behavior to RN Assists admission discharge transfer process Transports patients treatment centers when necessary assists transporters moving patients stretchers wheelchairs Keeps room clean orderly condition makes beds replaces soiled linen Assists restocking rooms supplies equipment assigned When assigned one patient safety attendant provides care observes does not leave alone General Responsibilities Performed other duties assigned Education Requirements HS Diploma GED required Experience Requirements No experience required License/Certification/Registration Requirements Current Basic Life Support issued American Heart Association required upon hire Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge basic nursing techniques procedures Ability communicate effectively Ability follow written oral instructions Ability maintain effective working relations others
