Academic Pulmonary Medicine – Interstitial Lung Diseases

The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant Professor to join the Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) program.

Experience and demonstrated interest in Interstitial Lung Diseases is required.

Stanford's ILD program, a part of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Clinical Care Network, offers a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary clinical program alongside active and well-funded clinical, translational, and basic research initiatives.

The selected candidate's clinical responsibilities will primarily involve outpatient ILD clinics at the Stanford Palo Alto Campus and ICU responsibilities at the Stanford Good Samaritan campus in San Jose, CA.

In addition, engagement in clinical research and teaching will be expected and encouraged.

The position is set to begin in September 2024. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.

The anticipated base pay for an assistant professor ranges from $215,000 to $247,000.

This range reflects base pay based on faculty rank and years in rank, but may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.

For more information regarding compensation and a comprehensive range of benefits, including housing assistance, please contact the hiring department.

Stanford University has provided this pay range as a good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.

The final pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the candidate's experience, qualifications, equivalent years in rank, training, field or discipline, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable positions.

Stanford University is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

We welcome applications from individuals who would bring additional dimensions to the University's research, teaching, and clinical missions.

Interested applicants are encouraged to research the cost of living and housing in the greater San Francisco area. Please submit your curriculum vitae and a letter of interest to Rishi Raj, MD, Director, Interstitial Lung Diseases Program, via email at
