    Required Qualifications (Labor & Delivery Nurse)

    Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (active clinical L&D skills)

    Previous travel nursing experience required (travel nurse assignments preferred)

    Active Massachusetts RN license (must be in hand at submission)

    Certifications:
    BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner required

    AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced certifications preferred

    Cerner EHR experience preferred but not required

    COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions); flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

    Core Responsibilities (L&D RN)

    Provide high-quality, family-centered maternal and newborn care in a 15-bed Labor & Delivery unit

    Conduct maternal and fetal assessments, including external and internal fetal monitoring and fetal heart rate interpretation

    Manage labor interventions:
    IV therapy, infusion pumps, medication administration (oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives) and emergency interventions

    Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and postpartum recovery; support early newborn care and stabilization

    Provide newborn support:
    APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, hypoglycemia screening, routine newborn assessments, and parent education

    Use Omnicell medication system and SBAR communication for safe medication administration and handoffs

    Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (OB physicians, anesthesia, PT, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, rapid response, interpretation services, unit secretary)

    Maintain accurate documentation, follow infection control and PPE protocols, and support breastfeeding/lactation and discharge teaching

    Preferred Skills & Keywords

    Experience with maternal-newborn care, fetal monitoring, postpartum nursing, and newborn stabilization

    Comfortable in emergency OB situations and perinatal clinical workflows

    Strong communication skills, teamwork, and patient education focus
