    Senior Mechanical Engineer

    Company Description

    Mackinnon & Partners is a world leader in custom design, development, and manufacturing of heavy load-moving, positioning, and restraining systems. Our solutions are used across multiple markets globally, including Military & Super Yacht Shipyards, Offshore Drilling Platforms, and Floating Production Units.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time hybrid role located in Houston, TX that allows for three days in the office and two days remote. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will develop heavy load handling and restraining solutions ranging from linear tensioning jacks to winches. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also work closely with other engineering disciplines, departments and technical staff to design, manufacture and install M&P equipment. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will report to the Design Engineering Manager.

    Qualifications

    1. 3 - 8+ Years of mechanical design experience on heavy machinery3- 3-
    2. Power user with Solidworks or other parametric modeling software
    3. FEA Analysis
    4. Possesses Code Familiarity in AISC, ANSI, and ASTIM
    5. Knowledge of working with classification agencies Lloyds, DNV, ABS, and BV.
    6. Experience with heavy load-moving and restraining systems and general onshore equipment package design.
    7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    8. Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
    9. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
    10. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is a plus
    11. Desired Software Experience a plus in ANSYS, Solidworks, Solidworks PDM, MathCAD, Microsoft Office Products
