- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
- Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; Install new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment; Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of unit and make necessary adjustment; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps
- Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems
- Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
- Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
- Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely
- Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties
- Participate in a comprehensive OSHA-approved safety course (preferably OSHA 10- or 30-hour course) and adhere to company and regulatory compliance programs
- Obtain or carry low voltage electrical card
- Obtain or carry any needed mechanical licenses for city or state work performed
- Maybe required to pass a satisfactory examination as to skills and ability as a Building Trades
- Must be currently within a Union or willing to join a Union
- Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated cooling
- Sheet metal, electrical, plumbing
- Basic understanding of building automation controls
