    Position Profile

    The PMO Project Manager needs to plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

    You need to be able to manage medium to large-sized project teams that deliver measurable business results by

    monitoring project activities, ensuring the quality and integrity of the information, and adhering to Portfolio Management Office ("PMO") policies and procedures.

    You need to effectively communicate as well as manage and define risk strategies along with mitigation plans. You need to have the necessary
    collaboration skills to motivate team members, focus on customer needs, and deliver on project objectives. You need to have an excellent working knowledge of project management disciplines, practices, and deliverables.

    Responsibilities


    • Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available departmental resources to various project phases.
    • Provide end-to-end extensive project management of medium to large-sized internal and external systems and application development projects.
    • Demonstrate the ability to lead and deliver IT/Software projects delivering through complexities and ensuring successful outcomes. Clearly and concisely explain technical concepts to project team members from diverse backgrounds, fostering understanding and collaboration.
    • Determine optimal project methodology either traditional, Agile or hybrid and tools required for the project, adhering to project management best practices.
    • Adhere to PMO policies managing scope, budget, schedule and changes.
    • Lead, coach, and motivate project team members throughout the project life cycle and successfully drive projects to completion.
    • Create project schedules for resource demand working with technical leads, resource managers, and business leads.
    • Identify project deliverables, milestones, objectives, scope and project phases/tollgates while working with key stakeholders and technical experts.
    • Outline the responsibilities and expectations of different principals and parties, including customers,, team members, support groups, vendors, consultants, and affected or impacted groups.
    • Identify and alert the PMO and project sponsors about dependencies between projects. Work with other Project Managers to determine mitigation options for project dependencies that allow for successful implementation of all projects involved.
    • Lead change management process by monitoring scope, cost, quality, and schedule, resolving issues when possible and communicating unresolved issues with the project sponsor and team in a timely manner.
    • Lead periodic tollgate check-ins with the team and sponsor to ensure project goals and objectives will be met.
    • Manage third party vendors, contracts, and contractors ensuring they are in the Company's best interest.
    • Keep RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) logs up to date and address problems through risk management and contingency planning. Present solutions and options to executive management as needed.
    • Ensure that all training and transition management activities are in place, including coordinating process redesign, new procedures, and acceptance of new technologies.
    • Collaborate with Project Managers and the PMO to establish project management standards and best practices, conduct research and development in the area of project management.
    Education and Experience


    • Bachelor"s degree in Project Management, Business, Management, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline required.
    • Proven track record with 3-5 years of hands-on project management experience, demonstrating successful execution of software development and integration projects.
    • Exceptional communication skills, adept at articulating complex ideas effectively both orally and in written form, fostering clear and concise project communication.
    • Strong ability to assess priorities, multitask, and efficiently coordinate with diverse stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external, ensuring seamless project alignment.
    • Experience using Jira, Slack, Asana or Basecamp to manage workflow
    • Project Management Professional Certification, Scrum Master Certification or other project management certifications required.
    Tools and Methodology:


    • Proficient in Project Management, creating and managing budgets including those potentially exceeding $1 million, utilizing industry-standard tools and software to track and control project expenditures effectively.
    • Familiarity with Google apps, utilizing a suite of collaborative and productivity tools, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive, to facilitate seamless communication and data sharing.
    • Conceptual knowledge using Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban); adapting project management approaches based on project requirements and team dynamics.
    • Skilled in project schedule creation and management, employing industry-standard tools (i.e. Jira, MS Project) to develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and track progress against milestones.
    • Proficiency in managing Risks and Issues, utilizing appropriate tools to identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring successful project outcomes.
