    Job Responsibilities

    With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

    This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

    Under general supervision, performs culturally sensitive, diversified crisis and assessments to persons who have a severe mental illness and present in an emergency or crisis situation. Provides supervision to those clinicians who are providing treatment interventions to those needing crisis interventions. Provides tracking with local hospitals and disposition from the emergency rooms to assist with diversion services.
    • Provides and coordinates crisis intervention, triage, and assessment for the clients and/or consumers in need of intensive services to help with hospital diversions.
    • Provides counseling and crisis intervention services of a highly complex nature to individuals experiencing difficulty managing family, vocational, social, or other life crisis.
    • Adheres to all QA, Corporate, Compliance, Outcome Evaluation, Research and Continuity of Care Policies and Procedures.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    State Requirements: A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or related field.
