Forslund Building Supply, a Nation's Best Holdings, LLC company, is seeking experienced candidates for a Yard Associate/ Stocker & Load Builder position in our Caspian, Michigan location.

What Does a Yard Associate Do?

• Verifies material are in good condition, accurately accounted for, and delivered to customer on time
• Organizes and secures loads, following appropriate safety procedures
• Builds positive relationships with the customers and ensures their needs are met
• Assist with moving product through the yard
• Make local deliveries using a company vehicle
• Pull materials from racks, units, or other storage areas to prepare for pick-up or shipment
• Build loads and load trucks from outbound deliveries
• Assists forklift operations when loading
• Band/ organize materials for safe forklift handling and delivery/arrival
• Remove lumber from units and place boards in rack, according to grade and lengths
• Safely load lumber and building materials into appropriate bins or stage locations
• Assist with inventory control
• Remove defective and damage lumber from racks
• Assist customers with loading of lumber and building materials
• Maintain good working relationships with customers, vendors, fellow associates, and management
• Maintain the appearance of the yard and racks
• Additional duties as assigned

What Does It Take to Be Successful as a Yard Associate?

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to pass a dot physical and have a valid chauffer's Driver's License, CDL is a plus
• Forklift Certification preferred however can be obtained after being hired
• Ability to lift up to 100lbs consistently and bend, twist, squat and reach throughout work shift
• Results-oriented with ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation's Best's values.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
• Strong interpersonal skills with willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills
